Cookbook Review - Antonio Carluccio's Southern Italian Feast
Written By Antonio Carluccio
****
This book contains everything that is good about southern Italian food,
including recipes that contain vibrant, flavorful ingredients, which are indeed a feast
for your senses. A chapter is set aside to explain what ingredients are in fact important
to southern Italian cuisine, and the rest of the book is full of traditional recipes, which
would appeal to novice or experienced cooks alike.
Delicious color photographs of many of the dishes are sprinkled throughout the book, which can't help
but inspire you to rush into your kitchen and try a few of these recipes. Each chapter spotlights this
region's best recipes in each category, and although there are a few recipes that may prove difficut
to reproduce due to difficulty in finding the necessary ingredients, most use ingredients available
to us all. The recipes I have tried from this book, were all winners, and I would certainly make them
again, particulary Involtini di Pesce Spada, and the Stuffed Peppers.
If you are interested in robust southern Italian cooking, than I think you'll enjoy this book!
