Friday Photos From Umbria ~ September 23rd, 2016

In less than four weeks it will be time once again to close up our property here in Umbria and head back to North America for the winter. We just spent a whirlwind two weeks taking my sister-in-law and her husband around Umbria, as well as to the larger cities of Florence and Venice. As much as I enjoy visiting some of Italy’s most famous cities, it is always nice to come back home to Umbria and away from the crowds of tourists. We hope to pick our olives some time in the next couple of weeks, which is earlier tha usual, as the dreaded olive fly has made an appearance in our region and we want to pick before our harvest is affected. Hopefully the olive mills will open earlier than usual as many others are experiencing the same issue.
