Summer is finally here, and the temperatures are soaring. Our new ceramic dining table for our outdoor space arrived from Deruta, so we are thoroughly enjoying eating “al fresco”. When the temperatures rise, who wants to spend hours in a warm kitchen? Luckily, we can move the cooking outdoors! We have a traditional Italian barbecue at our farmhouse in Umbria where you actually make your own charcoal from wood, but here in North America, we have a gas grill on our screened in lanai area.
I enjoy grilling during the warmer months as food just tastes better grilled, and you do not need heavy sauces or overly involved recipes. Keep it simple and just grill your food with seasoned olive oil and let the natural flavors of your ingredients shine. Below you can find some of my favorite grilling recipes.
