The Italian Country Table

This latest cookbook written by Maxine Clark is called The Italian Country Table – Simple Recipes for Trattoria Classics. I already have a couple of cookbooks written by Maxine Clark and have found each one to be very useful, which is why I decided to add this book to my cookbook collection. The recipes in this cookbook are simple enough for even the very novice cook, and are the type of recipe I tend to prefer in my own kitchen from day to day when I do not have time for anything too involved. I have learned over recent years, to truly appreciate simple, country style Italian recipes which is exactly what this book is about. From this book, I’ve made the Risotto with Butternut Squash, Sage & Chili, the Venetian Fresh Pea & Rice Soup With Mint, as well as the Spinach With Eggs & Cream. All three recipes were very simple to prepare and turned out great. This book is all about simplicity, so you won’t find any very involved recipes, but for good basic Italian dishes, I feel it is a good book. Although I would have personally liked to have had more recipes included in this book, the ones that are included are accompanied by gorgeous photos that inspire you to try the recipes.
